Let’s See…Where Are We Now?

So yes…let’s start with the obvious. I haven’t written a serious piece about anything since last January. I posted a handful of “funny” videos about dealing with Covid, until it became clear that there was nothing funny about it any longer.

But, the last real post of any import, was my prediction for the 2020 election, based on the results of the Iowa caucuses, and the polling that all but had Biden done for.

I realized that writing anything “substantive” here, was ludicrous, because everything had become a moving target.  Every day gave us another 50-pack-tweet-storm from our Commander in Tweet, the coverage of the primary elections became insanely incorrect, and Covid simply scrambled any real ability to prognosticate beyond a couple of weeks.

Well…It  looks like we might be in for a ton more “Social Distancing” no matter what our “Commander in Tweet” hopes will happen.  I get it. But, people are already starting to miss the point…especially the hordes of shoppers stampeding Costco for their now infamous 30-Roll TP Packs. And they get to buy TWO!!

But, I digress…

Cranky Tries A Covid Haircut and Succeeds…Mostly

One of the things nobody really counted on, was the swiftness with which things shut down here in Oregon. The Covid Craziness actually hit me personally earlier than the mandated “essential business only” date, because my preferred barber, works on the U of O campus, and had already seen a huge shift in business, forcing them to shut down, before they were TOLD to shut down.

And, like my errant cataract surgery, which I missed by a single week...I missed getting my chance for a MUCH NEEDED haircut, by a single day. So…today…a full month later…I was REALLY in need of a haircut.

So, like millions of others across the country, I attempted my first “Covid Cut!”

Cranky Talks To Pets – Pet Vid Fun or Pet Pandemic???

OK…I know. There are a TON of Pet Lovers out there.  I get it.  They mostly love you unconditionally (except for cats) and don’t end up costing you hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise and educate.

But, with the current Covid-19 Stay at Home policies in place…people are abusing their pets in ways that nobody could ever have imagined before.
