I spent the Easter weekend being torn apart with conflicting emotions.  On “Good Friday” I worked on preparing for my Rotary Club’s Food Box “thank you” event. More than 50 volunteers each month, come together to deliver emergency food boxes to more than 100 families in need. Most of the recipients come through the Head Start program (which may be DOGE’d out of existence) with much of the food coming from our partners at Food For Lane County (which will see budget cuts from the good folks at DOGE) and the Eugene Mission (which is being overburdened with people seeking assistance).

Saturday, I marched the streets of Eugene, with thousands of others, and millions across the nation, to let the “powers that be” know that we are reaching the limit of what we will take, in regards to finding “waste and efficiency” while they allow the biggest Graft Grab in history.

Then, on Easter Sunday, while attending church with my wife and sister-in-law, and trying to be thankful for our health, family, and all of the other blessings of this life, Trump blew up social media with what can only be called the most ludicrous, UN-CHRISTIAN, and outwardly disgusting “Easter Message” to come out of any political leader in my lifetime.

Adding to my contempt and confusion, I remembered that the majority of the authors of Project 2025, call themselves “Christian Nationalists.” Where were they on Easter Sunday?

So…many…questions. And ONE BIG SOLUTION to helping the rest of us spot them from a distance.

Let’s not mince words. Christian Nationalism as defined through Project 2025 (many of whose authors are in the Trump administration) is nothing more than a not-so-secret code for “White Cleansing” of our entire government, our history, and our way of life. It’s handing our morals and governance over to the creation of the new Gilded Age, while taking back women’s and minority freedoms to 1890s.

But, on Easter, Donny really stuck both tiny feet, tiny hands, and his smirky slathering tongue, into an Easter post that should make it clear that this guy, and his followers, have no concept of what Christ taught.  Love they neighbor?  Pffftt… yeah, if they are rich white guys with huge egos, brought out of the depths of their own depravity, to give glory to the “savior sent from God, who thinks he is a God.”

Donny’s sycophant handlers are so far removed from anything remotely being considered Christian, as to be sadly laughable.  The sad part comes from the “True Believers” whose single-note support comes from their belief that abortion is wrong, and the LGBTQ+ movement is sent by the devil to destroy civilization.

Of course, things get murky on that last part, when Donny is accepting bribes from the likes of Apple CEO Tim Cook, who is unapologetically gay. But, hey…Donny will take money from anyone.  And there is no better way to hide the bribes, than with your own brand of un-traceable crypto! More on the Tech Bro-logarchy in another post.

But, hey…if you can’t beat them, join them. Right? 

So I came up with this nifty little trinket that Donny and his Faux-Christian followers can wear, to help us know they are Nationalists Christians by their very own Hypocrisy Branding… The HypoChrist!

Genuine Gold (as genuine as their Christian actions), and emblazoned with a blindfolded Jesus (so he won’t see your lying, hypocritical actions) and imprinted with the motto,
“Caecus in Christum”

This directly translates to “blind in respect to Christ”. “Caecus” is the Latin word for “blind”, and “Christum” is the accusative form of “Christus” (Christ), indicating the object of the blindness.

Perfect.

These should be required adornment for Donny and his entire menagerie of miscreant mythomaniacs (defined as an excessive or abnormal propensity for lying and exaggerating).

Let’s see what the HypoChrist looks like on the youngest, but most forward-facing of Donny’s mythomaniacs, Karoline Leavitt.

Perfect! Small enough to be a fashion statement that doesn’t require a “Flavor Flav” style chain, but big enough to see at a distance for anyone doubting the wearer’s motives and veracity.

If the necklace doesn’t work for the manly men in Trump’s cadre of crud-buckets of the Turd Reich, the HypoChrist can also be worn as a lapel pin!

If you really want to expand the market, don’t forget the vast legion of “oh-so-Christian” folks who hate the gays, hate the libs, and love their huge trucks and cheap bear, and are ardent sports enthusiasts, eschewing Sunday services for NFL Sundays.”
The beauty of the “H” for hypocrite design, is that it could also be seen as a NEW version of “Touchdown Jesus!”

So…cool. So manly. So almost-Christ-like.

I could write for days about the hypocrisy of those who state their beliefs as “JESUS is my SAVIOR, TRUMP is my President!” But, it’s clear that most of these folks have an axe to grind against anyone who is “other.”  Forget that Christ taught that we should love everyone, and help those who are in need…without distinction.

If you want to read a great book about this kind of hypocrisy,  I strongly suggest  “Cross Purposes” by Bob Welch.

Bob is one of those true Christians who lives his life through his actions and words. The book is loaded with Bible scripture that supports the notion that lying, cheating, obfuscating, committing adultery, and countless other “every day Donny actions” aren’t Christian.

I found the book educational, illuminating, and loaded with reasons that being a Christian, in the way that Christ taught us to be, simply doesn’t jibe with the actions we see on an almost daily basis.

The book is AVAILABLE ON AMAZON…or at a number of local book sellers who don’t line the pockets of Jeff Bezos, another one of Donny’s Tech-Brologarchs who should be wearing a HypoChrist. But, let’s face it, none of the Brologarch’s even try to pretend to be Christians.  They are too busy trying to be Gods.
