Holyfreakinshirt- It’s Monday!

My original intention was to ask my readers to let me know what they thought was the most important/influential news from the past week. However, trying to pull one story out from the past week, is like trying to fill a thimble from a firehose.  You’re gonna get soaked trying (with your own tears?).

After just three weeks of trying to make sense of the world, with thrice-weekly posts…I am exhausted. But, it’s another week. Let’s see how it goes.

I will get to the “question of the week,” in a second, but want to start with pushing all of you to subscribe/follow/ read Heather Cox Richardson’s almost daily posts, “Letters From an American.” They are brilliant, spot on, and factual with a bent toward historical perspectives.  And lately, they have been so clearly depressing, that I have to read them in chunks between large sips of coffee, bites of pastry, and random rounds of disc golf (nothing says chillax like disc golf).  Until today…when her post actually shed a small glimmer of hope. 

But, I want to hear from you.  What do YOU think is the most important story/development in the ongoing “gallop toward fascism” from the past couple of weeks?

Donny T? Musk? Ukraine? Israel? Shutting down the Federal Government? 

I’ll provide a short list below.

To be honest, I’m at a loss for how to categorize “the worst,” in the way this horror movie is scripted.  It really is like a B-grade screamer, with a very B-List of cast of actors, doing their best to make the script make sense.

Some of this past week’s stories in no particular order:

• Trump Fires Joint Chief of Staff and installs bozo sycophant 
• Trump Calls himself a “King” and hints at a third term
• Trump Calls Zelinsky a dictator and demands Ukraine give US 1/2 of its mineral rights
• Musk Wields Chainsaw – a gift from a wannabe dictator- at CPAC- while loaded out of his mind on Ketamine.
• Musk Demands that All Federal Workers write outline of what they accomplished this week, or be fired
• Israel Holds Back on Prisoner Exchange- Cease Fire at Risk
• Extreme Right Party Headed for Victory in German elections
• Acting ICE director removed for not meeting quotas

And, these were just the most obvious for “Worst Development of the Week” awards.

My vote for the worst “Combination of Horrible People Doing Horrible Things While Abusing Drugs?

The “Combo” is the fact that CPAC used to be one of the worst displays of extreme Conservative activity every year. The history of who has appeared, and who is revered includes a “Whose Who” of awful crud-buckets who have been “Making America Cringe” since the middle of the Reagan era when it was formed in 1974.  It has always been a bit of a clown parade. But, this year…holyfreakinshirt…they actually seem to be telegraphing their agenda, now that they are actually “in power.”

It is definitely time to Fire Musk. He is off his rocker. He is dangerous. He is unbridled. He is a loose cannon with little grip on reality, and is completely above any laws or guardrails, because he simply ignores them.

While demanding that Federal Employees reply to his email to justify what they did last week, Musk was busy with “Non-Job” items of his own.
He had time to send out 1,782 Tweets (in addition to appearing at CPAC). Let that sink in. THIS is the guy who has the keys to all of our critical personal information? Ketamine. So. Much. Ketamine.

However, if we go by what Heather Cox Richardson posted this week, I believe the WORST news to be a combination of items that further centralize the power of the Federal government under one person. Or, to put it in layman’s terms, the final steps toward seizing power as a dictatorship and ending democracy as we know it.

I continue to wonder how much of what we are seeing in the news, is just badly written scenes for “the Trump Show” (Donny’s newest version of a reality show) and how much of this is actually a diversion from even worse things happening behind the curtain from hyper-weasels like Stephen Miller and Richard Vought?

I have to believe that everything we see in the news, or trumpeted around the blogosphere/social media scrolls is just a small portion of what is really going on, in order to make Project 2025 and Agenda 47 come fully into fruition.

I want to believe that there is an end to the madness, that doesn’t result in “King Donny” actually pulling off the rewriting of the Constitution, while thumbing his nose at the rule of law, to allow himself to play dictator like his close autocrat buddies.

But, I would never have believed that even a narcissistic, psychopathic, pathological liar, that we all knew Donny to be BEFORE they handed him the keys to Air Force One (which he wants to replace immediately), was capable of what he has done in the first month.

I am the first to admit that I underestimated Donny, DOGE and the Boys from Project 2025. But, most of all, I admit that I completely underestimated the stupidity of the average “Am-mur-i-kun” to join hands with the cuckholded Democratic Congress, as we watch the Constitution burn.

Let me know your thoughts.  What you are doing to fight back. Tell me what you have heard from former MAGA voters who are getting stuck in the crossfire (losing jobs and government grants). Let me know what you think the ending to this horrible movie will be.
